for HD 24V  Vehicles

Product Introduction:

Autel ML529HD is a practical OBD2 scan tool specially designed to work with all OBDII-compliant vehicles and heavy-duty 24V vehicles (J1939 and J1708). It features the complete OBD2 functions with enhanced mode 6 access and the patented one-key I/M readiness test, therefore it is an excellent choice for vehicle repair work and indicator lights and codes diagnoses.

As the latest member of Autel’s code reader tool family, the ML529HD can diagnose not only OBD II/EOBD-compatible vehicles but also heavy-duty vehicles using SAE-J1939 and SAE-J1708 protocols.

Autel MaxiLink ML529HD Features:

• Compatible with Heavy Duty 24V Vehicles utilizing SAE-J1939 and SAE-J1708 protocols
• Compatible with domestic, Asian and European vehicles, 1996 and newer. OBD II/EOBD compatible vehicles (ISO9141, ISO14230, ISO15765, SAE-J1850 VPW, SAE-J1850 PWM)
• AutoVIN function for quick manufacturer-specific code identification
• Reads enhanced codes in Powertrain systems for Ford, GM and Chrysler
• Enhanced OBD II Mode 6 access
• Retrieves generic (P0, P2, P3 and U0), manufacturer-specific (P1, P3 and U1) and pending codes
• Retrieves vehicle identification information (VIN, CALID and CVN)
• Easily determines the cause of the Check Engine Light/ Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL)
• Turns off Check Engine Light, clears codes and resets monitors
• Views freeze frame data
• Reads live PCM data stream
• Displays live O2 sensor test data
• Graphs data
• Reads, stores and plays back live sensor data

Autel AL529HD OBDII Functions:

1. Read Codes
The Read Codes function can be performed with the key on, engine off (KOEO), or with the key on, engine running (KOER).

2. Erase Codes
Erasing the Diagnostic Trouble Codes may allow the scan tool to delete not only the codes from the vehicle’s on-board computer but also “Freeze Frame” data and manufacturer-specific enhanced data. Further, the I/M Readiness Monitor Status for all vehicle monitors is reset to Not Ready or Not Complete status. Do not erase the codes before repairs or services have been performed.
Even if deleted, codes will again display if the underlying fault causing the code is not addressed.
This function is performed with a key on, and engine off (KOEO). Do not start the engine.

3. Live Data
In this function, you can not only read the live data but also record data for later review. But for high-duty vehicles, only View Data is supported for now.

View Data: The ViewDatafunction allows viewing of live or real-time PID data of a vehicle’s computer module(s).
Record Data: The Record Data function allows recording vehicle modules’ Parameter Identification (PID) data to help diagnose intermittent vehicle problems. A recording includes 5 frames of live data before the trigger event and several frames after the trigger event.
Playback Data: The Playback Data function allows viewing of previously stored PID data.

4. View Freeze Frame Data
Freeze Frame Data allows the technician to view the vehicle’s operating parameters at the moment a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) is detected. For example, the parameters may include engine speed (RPM), engine coolant temperature (ECT), or vehicle speed sensor (VSS). This information will aid the technician by allowing the parameters to be duplicated for diagnostic and repair purposes.

5. RetrieveI/M Readiness Status
The I/M Readiness function is used to check the operations of the Emission System on OBDII-compliant vehicles. It is an excellent function to use before having a vehicle inspected for state emissions compliance.

6. O2 Monitor Test
OBD II regulations set by the (Society of Automotive Engineers) SAE require vehicles monitors and tests on the oxygen (O2) sensors to identify problems related to fuel efficiency and vehicle emissions. These tests are done automatically when engine operating conditions are within specified limits. These test results are saved in the vehicle’s onboard computer memory.

7. On-Board Monitor Test
The On-Board MonitorTestis are useful after servicing or after erasing a vehicle control module memory. The On-Board MonitorTest for non-CAN-equipped vehicles retrieves and displays test results for emission-related powertrain components and systems that are not continuously monitored. The On-Board MonitorTest for CAN-equipped vehicles retrieves and displays test results for emission-related powertrain components and systems that are and are not continuously monitored.

8. Component Test
The Component Test initiates a leak test for the vehicle’s system. The scan tool itself does not perform the leak test but commands the vehicle’s computer to start the test. Different vehicle manufacturers might use different criteria and methods for stopping the test once it has been started. Before starting the Component Test, refer to the vehicle service manual for instructions to stop the test.

9. View Vehicle Information
The vehicle Info function enables retrieval of vehicle Identification No. (VIN), Calibration IDNos. (CINs), Calibration Verification Nos. (CVNs) and In-use Performance Tracking 2000 and newer vehicles that support Mode 9.

10. Modules Present
The Modules Presentfunction displays the module IDs and communication protocols for OBDII modules in the vehicle
